Triad School District is proud to recognize Nichole Wise as a recipient of the Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award.
During her ten years at C.A. Henning Elementary, Ms. Wise has proven herself to be an exceptional educator. As a kindergarten teacher, she has developed a deep understanding of primary education and consistently demonstrates excellence in classroom management, curriculum implementation, collaboration, and student assessment. She approaches every aspect of her work with professionalism, dedication, and a commitment to student success.
What truly sets Ms. Wise apart is her commitment to growth and continuous improvement. She is a highly collaborative teammate who thrives in a professional learning community. Having begun her teaching career in the very classroom where she once attended kindergarten herself, she has grown into a respected leader across the district. She currently serves as a grade-level leader for all four elementary schools, helping guide her colleagues in providing the best possible learning experiences for students. She utilizes differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all learners and continually seeks innovative ways to engage her students. In addition, she serves as a mentor to new teachers and student teachers, sharing her knowledge and experience to support the next generation of educators.
Ms. Wise's commitment to students extends well beyond the classroom. She recently coached a Triad dance team that qualified for state competition in 2026, and she travels with student groups to help foster a love of travel, exploration, and learning among older students.
One of the qualities that makes Ms. Wise especially deserving of this award is the genuine kindness and care she shows to everyone around her. She always seems to have a smile on her face and a friendly word for everyone she meets, whether it is a student, parent, colleague, or community member. Her warmth and positivity are contagious, and it is easy to see why she is so deeply respected and appreciated by students, families, and staff.
Ms. Wise is incredibly generous with her time, hardworking, and dedicated, always willing to go the extra mile to help others succeed. She treats everyone with kindness, compassion, and respect and genuinely wants the very best for those around her. She is the kind of person others naturally want to emulate, not only because of the outstanding teacher she is, but because of the person she is.
